Un oficio puede resultar terapéutico, pero a su vez puede convertirse en una de las peores formas de explotación humana. Cedars Acute es la representación de esta paradoja. Mientras que la realización manual de un oficio puede ayudar a la memoria, combatir el estrés y desarrollar habilidades, su industrialización ha subempleado a 40 millones de personas alrededor del mundo, negando sus garantías mínimas de protección física y psicológica, incumpliendo su justa remuneración y explotándolas laboralmente. Esta pieza artística es una maraña de hilos y botones tejidos entre sí que expresa la contradicción de este oficio; una enredadera que puede sanar, o a su vez, puede terminar siendo un caos letal.

In some cases, a trade can be therapeutic while, in others, it can be converted into one of the worst forms of human exploitation. Cedars Acute is the representation of this paradox. While the manual work of a trade can reinforce memory, combat stress, and develop skills, its industrialization has under-employed 40 million people around the world. It neglects minimum guarantees of physical and psychological protection and fails to assure just pay while exploiting labor. This piece, over 50 meters long, is a tangle of threads and buttons woven together that express the contradiction of this trade; a vine that can heal and, in turn, end up being an industry that exhausts the body and saturates the mind.
